There was no shortage of glamour at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday.
Hitting the red carpet early was Bella Thorne, Willow Shields, and Amber Rose, who all wore elegant mini-dresses to the event held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. Later Jennifer Lopez, Scarlett Johansson and Emily Ratajkowski stole their thunder.
The stars, of course, were only a few of the many celebrities who attended the televised ceremony, which honours blockbuster favourites over critically acclaimed media.

Amber, who normally raises eyebrows with her risque red carpet attire, surprised with her outfit choice of a chic pencil dress with modest neckline.

But model and music video dancer Emily Ratajkowski could have very easily stole the fashion show as she sported a cleavage bearing cut-out halter top dress for the evening.

The ceremony marks the beginning of blockbuster season, with audiences flocking to cinemas to see the latest high budget movies.
But before fans get hooked on the latest car chase, teen romance, or mind bending plot twist, they get to vote on their favourites from the previous year.
And while the MTV Movie Awards are not the most prestigious ceremony in the business, it certainly represents the tastes of movie-goers the world over.
This year MTV has nominated some of the highest earning films of 2014 and, of course, many of Hollywood's hottest actresses and actors.

The awards show is known for its more unconventional categories, such as Best Kiss, which includes an on-screen lip-lock between James Franco and Seth Rogen in Sony's North Korea spoof comedy, The Interview.
Other irreverent categories include Best WTF Moment and Best Scared-As-S**T Performance.
Fans vote for MTV Movie Award winners, who receive their popcorn-shaped trophies at a ceremony in downtown Los Angeles at the Nokia Theater.
This year, comedian Amy Schumer hosts the event for the first time, coming off a raucous 12 months that has made her a fan-favourite.

Unlike the Oscars, which are voted by the film industry's elite, the MTV Movie Awards draws on the network's young fan base to pick favorites that often include big blockbusters overlooked for industry awards.
Guardians Of The Galaxy only scored two Oscar nominations for visual effects and makeup and went home empty-handed.
Last year, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire was named movie of the year at the MTV Movie Awards, and scooped the top acting honours over Oscar-winning 12 Years A Slave, highlighting the ceremony's appeal to young fans.
